Hours: The zoo is open 7 days a week, from 9 am to 5 pm. We are only
closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
The Alexandria Zoological Park was founded in 1926, encompasses 33 shady
acres and is home to more than 600 animals. It is owned and operated by
the City of Alexandria, Louisiana. The award winning Louisiana Habitat
Exhibit is the zoo's newest addition, which opened in October 1998. This
3.5-acre exhibit features native Louisiana flora and fauna as well as
examples of habitats and architecture found throughout the state.

Americas (affiliated with the Audubon Zoological Gardens) is one of the
most impressive and innovative aquariums in the world.
